Safe Schools

Westminster Secondary School

2024-2025 Safe and Inclusive School Planlearning triangle

Our school is committed to providing all students with a safe, caring, and inclusive learning environment free from bullying and harassment that promotes respect, acceptance, and empathy.

Staff, students, parents and caregivers, and community partners will work together as a team to help make our school safe and welcoming for everyone.

The Safe and Inclusive School Plan highlights some of the key actions that our school community will put in place as part of our bullying prevention and intervention efforts.

Key Priorities and Goals

This year we are focusing on continuing to foster a sense of connection, community, and belonging in a positive school culture.

We are doing this because students need to attend classes everyday, feel safe and welcomed at school, and build positive peer relationships.

Key Actions or Strategies

  • Focus on daily student attendance in all classes and removing barriers to daily attendance.
  • Continuing to build school community through the Westminster House System.
  • Recognizing and rewarding positive choices and positive behaviour.

Community and Home Connections

  • Ask your student about their day at school: attendance, learning activities, participation in extracurricular activities.
  • Check out the TVDSB Parent Portal at https://schoolapps2.tvdsb.ca/parents/tvdsb_parents/ for information about student attendance, academic achievement, and community hours.
